I hate character clothing!

I hate clothes with cartoons, logos, brand advertisements, and most especially licensed characters on them. You will be hard pressed to find a picture of G wearing any of that gear as a small child. Even harder pressed to find one of F. But, in some foriegn language, "third child" must translate to "caved" because I have. He begs in that cute, somewhat lispy voice with those blue eyes and homeless looking blonde straggly hair and I cave. Out shopping with me one morning, S conned me into getting the Legos Star Wars shirts for the 2 little boys. I bought a third in a larger size for a birthday party we are headed to next week. I decided I'd give them the shirts on the 14th as a Valentine's day token and give F the faux leather jacket I had bought for him. Turns out, the jacket looked "too cool" for F. Guess I am going out to get a new birthday gift for the party and return to jacket. And never swear "I will never let my kids..." again.

Ha ha ha! I hate that stuff too, but we're too far gone to say anything now. We've received too many presents from family who ask to send a picture when they wear it. My fav is Maggie's "Does this diaper make my butt look big?" pink onesie. Yikes.

They still look awfully cute!

I don't like character clothing, and like you I have sworn my kid will never wear it. I have a feeling though, I may have to cave too!

Caving? Isn't that what parents are for!

Yeah, my kids were never going to have weapons. You could break your neck tripping over all of the lightsabres, swords, suction cup arrows and bows, etc.

You are better than me...I caved way before child #3.

Your desciption of S with the sweet little voice, etc. was hilarious. Many have caved under less adorable pleading.

Oh, my gosh! I am dying over the, "does this make my butt look big" pink onesie.

I said the same thing about books as toy commercials. Barbie, Disney Princess, My Little pony line her bookshelves. And yes, they are vapid.

I agree, but then again, John really hates anything with a character on it... unless that character is a skull. Then we have it all over the place.
