Finished the quilt, now I just need the baby.

Notice: If you are an occassional weekend quilter, continue. If you are a "Quilter", please look away...

When "everything" went down in October, I was in the middle of working on a quilt for the baby. I wanted to start working on it again, but tried and just couldn't pull it out. So I started a new one. New quilt for a new baby.
Awhile ago Jack had purchased some great fabric for me from IKEA on one of his trips without me (yes, they do sell fabric). The print had these adorable little characters that sort of reminded me of Beatrix Potter in a modern sort of way. I decided to bust it out, and this is what I came up with:
I told Jack my goal was to make it look "just fine" and I think I did. I actually did the binding myself, which is a first for me. Ususally I cheat by using blanket binding or having someone else do it. The sides are wavy, corners are a mess, but I think it looks "just fine."

Now I just need a baby to stain it.

It looks great, Jaime. I know you may think I am just saying this, but I get so, so many compliments on the quilt you made for me.

I like the little characters, too. I totally agree with your description of a more modern Beatrix Potter feel. For some reason that little duckie holding the tulips with the little upward curling bobbed hair makes me giggle. It's charming.

I know you will get a baby to stain that beautiful quilt one day soon.

That is seriously impressive! I love the colors and the blocking. I would even suggest that you are crossing the "quilter" threshold.

It is a beautiful quilt and so are you. I love reading your blog. This entry makes me happy and makes me sad. I love you all and am so excited to be visiting this summer.

Okay, before you correct my grammar which I admit is horrible, I did not mean to say you are a beautiful quilt. But if you were a quilt I am sure you would be a beautiful one. Enough - it's bed for me.
