Ok, there is a weird middle section where they talk, but hold strong, you will be rewarded for your patience. And for Lyssa and Beth--as an added bonus this song always makes us laugh....remember the interpretive dance.
Oh my gosh! Did you know I hate that song? So one day I was watching a VH1 special about some music video director who did Elton John's "Still Standing" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" among others. Evidently he was quite the director and also gay (not that there is anything wrong with that). Well, Bonnie Tyler was interviewed and she totally hated her video. She felt like it was creepy with all the school boy inuendos (sp?). So there you have it. That video was hilarious..."what the effing crap"...
So not only do I hate the song, the video reminds me of a nightmare. This cracked me up though... it made more sense than the real lyrics. And I will never forget the "interpretive" dance!
I cannot say enough about how enjoyable watching that video was. I will never forget, ♪ Mullet with headlights...Over surprised guy ♫...watching this was a magical experience for me...
I just watched it again...I know...I shouldn't admit to watching it so many times...
I laughed in the weird middle section where the guy says, "You're making it worse" during the part where they are supposedly trying to rip the tablecloth out from under the dishes and goblets.
Even as youngish children in the early 80's my sister and I thought this song was weird and just silly. We had to "sneak watch" the video bc we weren't allowed to watch MTV (Thank's Mom and Daaaad!). Video was equally weird and silly!
This must be my favorite thing that ever came over the internet. Laughed so hard I cried, several times. BTW, this is actually my favorite song ever, but I detest the video - before literal video.
